Jeevan Sandhya Old Age Home is in Ahmedabad and houses around 120 people. Most of these people have been shunned by their families. They long for people to speak to them and provide them with some joyful moments.

SDF Involvement:

SDF regularly visits the old age home on a monthly basis, with a strong focus on enhancing the physical and mental well-being of its residents through various means. This includes:

Facilitating the provision of milk by partnering with Amul to establish a counter within the home.
Supervising the construction work required to repair dilapidated rooms, ensuring necessary civil work is undertaken.
Arranging bi-weekly doctor visits for residents, particularly those with diabetes, to ensure their health needs are attended to.
Engaging in activities like playing antakshari and dancing with the residents during each visit, which they eagerly anticipate.
Creating opportunities for the residents to openly express themselves, share their concerns and problems, creating a supportive environment where they feel genuinely listened to and their hearts are uplifted.
Providing monthly supplies of dry fruits to the residents, along with organizing special meals that turn those days into happy occasions for them.
